400-minute Bible

A special social network project saw the King James Version of the Bible read eight times in 400 minutes as part of its 400th anniversary celebrations.

According to a statement on website www.youversion.com/kjv400, Christians all over the world were invited to sign up and, at 11.00am US Eastern Time, to read out pre-allocated portions of the Bible at the same time.

Nearly 2000 people signed up to the campaign on its Facebook site from across the world, both young people and individuals and even businesses, with more people joining through Twitter.

One comment on the Facebook site was from US Christian public relations company A. Larry Ross Communications, which said, ‘We read our verses during our staff meeting this morning. Happy 400th birthday, King James Bible’.
