The Ceylon(Sri Lanka) Bible Society has welcomed its new president, Major Douglas Wijesinha, at the April annual general meeting of its general council. Dr Paul Cooke is France Mission’s new British director, following the announcement that Peter Farley is to retire at the end of this year. Dr Cooke currently lectures in French at Exeter University and is married to Sarah, with whom he has two children: Harry and Milly. Pro-creation magazine Origins has a new editor in James Powell. Powell, a committee member of the Biblical Creation Society, which produces the thrice-yearly magazine, takes over from Paul Garner. Tyndale House has awarded four bursaries to promising scholars who will be starting their research into the Song of Songs, Job, Hebrews and Romans. Respectively, these are: Ros Clarke, Tim Davy, Lee Gatiss andWill Timmins. Kylie Thomas has joined the front-office staff of Tyndale House.
