Saturday 20 September saw nearly 90 people gather at Artillery Street Evangelical Church, including the Mayor and Mayoress of Colchester. The occasion was to celebrate and thank God for 175 years of the church’s life and gospel ministry in New Town, Colchester.
Stuart Olyott preached from Acts 9:9-34, and reflected on the amazing grace of God in instant conversion.
We were reminded in particular of the great Baptist preacher C. H. Spurgeon’s conversion at this chapel back in 1850, and how God graciously works in hearts and lives to this day through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
