Campaign

Campaigning Christian charity Release International has launched a campaign on behalf of Nigeria’s vulnerable Christians.
Coming after another bomb attack in Jos, which killed three members of a congregation, including a child, and injured 38 others, the campaign called on Christians to put up a prayer shield for their Nigerian brothers and sisters.
According to a statement from Release, the dead include an 18-month-old child and two women. Release is calling on the Nigerian government to step up action against Boko Haram, the Islamic terrorist organisation that has allegedly claimed responsibility.
Andy Dipper, of Release, said, ‘Boko Haram should not be allowed to grow in its influence. It is using violent, bullying tactics to further its own ideals which are contrary to the vast majority of Nigerians, whether Muslim or Christian.
‘This terrorist group has no place in Nigerian society. We call upon the government of Nigeria to do everything in its power to stop this small group of trouble-making extremists.’
