Short and easy to read, this is an excellent book. It is based on a series of sermons covering the period of Christ’s life from Gethsemane to the resurrection.
There may be only five chapters, but each is so deep and rich that there is much on which to feed and meditate. In equal measure, the chapters are clear and accessible for anyone to understand. Simple study questions conclude each chapter, helping to clarify the main points.
Anyabwile reflects thoughtfully on the experiences of our Lord before and at his death. He expounds the blessings that come to believers through Christ’s death, the importance of the resurrection, and the confidence we can have in the Saviour because of it.
While this book could easily have been longer, it gently encourages the reader to think about the doctrines surrounding the finished work of Christ and to marvel afresh at all that our God has done for us. This title is well worth reading.
