It is known as ‘Monster Mansion’ for housing some of Britain’s most notorious convicts, but in August HMP Wakefield witnessed some encouraging evangelical outreach featuring the text of Mark’s Gospel.
Stefan Smart has committed all 16 chapters of Mark to memory, and recites an abridged account in various venues as a means of outreach. Daylight Christian Prison Trust arranged the event at HMP Wakefield as part of its 20th anniversary activities.
