A Christian street preacher who was arrested for displaying a sign saying, ‘Love Muslims, hate Islam’, has had his appeal heard by the High Court.

Ian Sleeper, 57, was arrested on 23 June 2017 for holding a placard outside Southwark Cathedral which read, ‘Love Muslims, Hate Islam, Jesus is love and hope.’

His arrest was recorded by police body-worn video cameras, and the recording shows him telling officers that he was ‘not attacking people; I’m attacking an idea.’
