This is an unusual and stimulating book. It explores tactics used by Satan in his unrelenting warfare against the Lord and the ‘seed of the woman’, from ancient times down to the present. It examines this fight from a societal rather than pietistic perspective, and shows what it involves for individual believers today.
Christianity Victorious presents a thesis that could be a valuable antidote to those obsessed with just one dimension of this struggle –– namely, the demonic. The book demonstrates convincingly that Satan drives a cosmic strategy of rebellion, working through all the institutions of fallen human society, including religion, law and politics, as he influences the minds of people.
This strategy is discoverable in the Bible. The book of Job and the early chapters of Genesis are among scriptures explored, as the author presents his case. By reference to the tower of Babel and extra-biblical civilisations, Roy Mohon exemplifies the biblically predictable facets of Satan’s terror tactics. He is also at pains to show believers are ‘more than conquerors’ through Christ.
It is not a long read. It is at its best when the author brings his own thinking to bear rather than relying on other people’s quotations. The book’s main value is in its seminal and original nature. I recommend it.
