The Bible contains a lot of stories about God reacting in different ways to various people, starting from the beginning of time. I enjoyed reading these stories, some more than others. I had no problem with the stories being true, but I didn’t understand how these stories were relevant to me.
In my youth, these stories were general knowledge to me, and people assumed I was a believer because my family went to church and because I could answer basic questions about the content of Bible stories.
However, outside of church and reading my Bible, I was yearning for some attention, because this made me feel good. During my teenage years, I became addicted to it. The gratification I received when people, specifically boys, gave me attention made me feel alive.
