A Tory MP who usually supports abortion has said it does not ‘sit right with him’ that termination is ‘expected’ in cases of Down Syndrome, Evangelical Times can exclusively reveal.

Elliot Colburn was the sitting Conservative MP for Carshalton and Wallington before the dissolution of Parliament ahead of the general election.

He told an Evangelical Times writer, ‘This is something I’ve spoken about before with Get On Downs, a local Down Syndrome Charity, and as someone who co-sponsored the Down Syndrome Act, I take this matter very seriously.
