A court in Northern Ireland has heard the first case in the country relating to alleged breaches of abortion ‘buffer zone’ legislation.

Coleraine Magistrates Court heard the case of Claire Brennan, 52, who was being arrested for praying outside a hospital.

The Roman Catholic woman had been arrested along with a colleague in a wheelchair, David Hall, outside of Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, Northern Ireland.
