A gospel singer who regularly performs on Oxford Street in London has returned after police apologised for telling her that church songs can’t be sung in public.

A video of the astonishing interaction with a female police Special Constable went viral, making headlines worldwide.

It shows the police officer – who was an unpaid volunteer officer – telling Harmonie London, aged 20, that she’s ‘not allowed to sing church songs outside of church grounds’.

The gospel singer asks the police officer about the right to free expression, but the video shows the police officer walking off and sticking her tongue out.
