In May 2011, Douglas Taylor was diagnosed with terminal cancer. From 7 June 2011 until 8 May 2014, he launched into a personal mission for the Saviour he loved. He began a blog to encourage those who knew that the remainder of their lives would be short. His vibrant faith in the Saviour, whom he knew so well, is shared with us in a selection of 247 short blog posts, which are full of gospel comfort.
The short meditations in this compendium are never repetitious and always fresh. They exemplify a humble soul preparing to meet his Saviour. There is rich variety in the short, apt quotations from Scripture, Christian writers from all epochs and evangelical hymns.
Taylor also shares the various mental states caused by his liver cancer and prescribed drugs. His counsel is down-to-earth and wise.

Let us rest there. Let us rejoice in our Saviour there. Let us feed there till our want is o’er, and till we see Christ face to face, and as he is!’
