A Christian woman has been beaten to death in Toylanka, in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district, marking the culmination of increasing hostility towards her and her family after she converted.

The body of Bindu Sodhi, a 46-year-old woman, was laid to rest in a funeral that needed police protection, as violence and threats against Christians had intensified from Hindu extremists in the region.

According to the British Asian Christians Association (BACA), Sodhi was hacked to death by fanatic relatives who had repeatedly threatened her after she converted four years ago.
