Even Mother Theresa may struggle to have a job as a social worker in the modern NHS, an employment judge has heard.
The remark was referenced in a mixed and confusing ruling handed down by Employment Judge Jonathan Brain in the case of Christian social worker Felix Ngole.
Ngole had claimed religious discrimination because a job offer had been withdrawn after his Christian beliefs about sexual ethics were discovered during an internet search.
He therefore took his legal case to an Employment Tribunal against Touchstone Leeds, an agency which recruits social workers on behalf of the NHS.
