Lakeland Bible School 2012

This year was my first time on Lakeland Bible School and I would love to go back again!
The weekend was held in the Keswick Convention centre and there were about 30 people there. It was great to meet Christians and hear what is happening and what God is doing in other parts of the country.
The theme for the weekend was ‘The Trinity’ and it was refreshingly helpful and practical. There was a choice of seminars on ‘The sovereignty of God’, ‘Mission’, and ‘The battle of the sexes’.
On the Saturday there was a talk on ‘What is happening in the Middle East and what should we be doing about it?’ which I particularly enjoyed and found very challenging. Throughout the weekend we broke into small groups to chat through what we were hearing and pray together.
There was a bookstall with a number of books that the speakers had picked out, and it was useful to have recommendations as to what to read on certain topics.
On the Saturday night we had a ‘Question and answer’ time, where some hard issues were discussed and valuable points made. It was great to be in an honest environment where people were open and willing to raise questions they had.
Throughout the weekend there was plenty of time for amazing food, singing, conversations and fun. Although the weather was terrible (I don’t think it stopped raining the whole weekend!), we still made it out for obstacle golf and looking round Keswick. We also played some drier indoor games!
The weekend was so God-centred, biblical, challenging and refreshing. It was also very encouraging to meet with others, and I’d definitely recommend it to all.
