Brighton outreach

For two weeks this June, a team of young people from Montpelier Place Baptist Church, Brighton, engaged in intensive literature outreach in Brighton. The team was led by Pastor Stephen Nowak and assisted for one of the weeks by Dwayna Litz, of Lighting the Way Worldwide (LTW).

Miss Litz had the previous week been assisting Bethel and Zion Evangelical churches in Ripon and Ryedale Evangelical Church in North Yorkshire. She originally studied at Grace Community Church in California (pastored by John MacArthur), and now engages in an apologetics and outreach ministry, in partnership with evangelical churches, at New York Central Park, Venice Beach, California, and Boulder, Colorado. LTW reaches out to a number of groups, including new agers, homosexuals and those influenced by occult teaching (http://www.lightingtheway.blogspot.com).

Brighton, a seaside and university town in Sussex, is today notorious as the ‘gay capital’ of the south of England. Pastor Nowak reports that there were many significant gospel conversations during the outreach. There is a regular ongoing work of evangelism from Montpelier church to the people of Brighton.
