Charity guide

The Evangelical Alliance has welcomed guidance from the Charity Commission that will help faith-based charities to work more effectively in their communities.

The publication, Faith in good governance, was created to help charities establish strong trustee bodies and good practice. It is aimed at the 30,000-plus faith-based charitable organisations on the register (particularly the newer or smaller ones), and provides them with practical case studies and pithy summaries of the legal requirements, as well as best practice guidelines.

Dr Don Horrocks, spokesperson for the Evangelical Alliance, said: ‘We welcome this new guidance from the Charity Commission, which will help Christian, and many other faith-based, charities to work even more effectively in our communities’.
