Dennis Jenkins
On Saturday evening, 12 May, Dennis Jenkins passed into glory. He was in the middle of preaching what would be his last sermon, when ‘faith gave way to sight’. It was a sudden passing but one that was so very appropriate for a man like Dennis Jenkins.
The grace of God first worked in Dennis when as a young man he attended a tent campaign at his home village. A short while later God called him into the ministry, in which he served faithfully in several pastorates in Wales. He retired from his last pastorate in Llanelli in 1997 and continued preaching regularly in the area both in English and Welsh.
During his ministry Dennis Jenkins remained faithful to the gospel at a time when many had slipped the mooring of biblical authority. God made him a consistently bold and courageous preacher, using his ministry to affect the lives of many people.
He will be greatly missed by many friends; and their thoughts will be with his family.
