Don Carson to visit West Country

Christians in the west of England are looking forward to a visit this summer from Dr Don Carson, Research Professor of New Testament at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois. He will be the speaker at the annual Bath Bible Week, from 10-13 June, at Widcombe Baptist Church, Bath.
His theme ‘God’s perspectives for practical people’ will be based on sections of the pastoral epistles. On Saturday 8 June Dr Carson will visit Exeter to address members of the University Christian Union (CU). Since the Exeter CU is currently barred from holding meetings on campus, this evening event will be in a local church and open to all.
‘The CU at Exeter is going through a difficult time’, comments John Summers, Bath Word in Action secretary, ‘and our prayer is that this visit will prove an encouragement to them’.
Of particular interest to local Evangelicals are two daytime seminars Dr Carson will be leading on ‘What is Evangelicalism?’
The first will be on Monday 11 June at Bradley Stoke Evangelical Church, Bristol, and the second the next day at St Bartholomew’s Church, Oldfield Park, Bath. Please register early for these.
Bath Word in Action links more than twenty evangelical fellowships in the Bath area and provides regular opportunities for local Christians to gather together for biblical teaching. The annual Bible Convention has been held for more than 100 years and is linked with the Keswick Convention.
