Fight for life

Leading lights at Westminster are mobilising a nationwide petition against the Assisted Dying legislation.

A lobby group called Not Dead Yet UK has launched The Resistance campaign in the UK for equality of access to healthcare and in opposition to legislation that is seen as a weakening of the laws on euthanasia.

Fronting the campaign is Baroness Campbell DBE of Surbiton, who has linked this to the international movement opposing Assisted Suicide for Disabled People.

The campaign aims to bring to the attention of the public and media the plight of disabled and terminally ill people who fear that their lives may be expedited by medical staff or family without their consent.

Not Dead Yet UK also aims to ensure that legislation prohibiting assisted suicide and euthanasia remains in place.
