Needham Market

On Saturday 10 January, 200 people gathered at Needham Market Community Centre for the induction of Peter Kinley as pastor of Needham Market Evangelical Church (FIEC), on the retirement of Brian Langston. Mr Langston served the Lord here in Suffolk for 13 years, with his wife Sheila.

It was a great encouragement to the church to see so many friends; a blessing to report a change of pastors with no gap; and a privilege to welcome Peter, widely known through his ministry with the Protestant Truth Society over the past 10 years. His wife Janet is given a warm welcome too.

Our retiring pastor led the service. The preacher was Rev. Gordon Murray, pastor of Otley Baptist Church (Suffolk). He reminded us powerfully and warmly that our Lord Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. This wonderful promise is found in Hebrews 13, in the context of leadership within the church.

Our united desire at Needham Market is that the Lord Jesus will be at the centre of our fellowship and will be made known as Saviour in the community round about. Our links with the community were demonstrated by the presence of the local mayor.
