Penzance

Rev. Hywel Roberts has retired after 35 years’ ministry at Penzance Baptist Church. Mr Roberts comes from Pwllheli in North Wales, and he was a lecturer in statistics before being called to the ministry. He and his wife Elizabeth are returning to Southampton to live.

He has chaired the ministers’ fraternal in West Cornwall and the Reformation South West church leaders’ meeting in Plymouth. He is also more widely known for his many valuable book reviews written for Banner of Truth magazine and, from time to time, Evangelical Times.

His last Sunday at Penzance was on 6 January and his final engagement the ordination service of his successor Jonathan Stobbs. Hywel Roberts is still available for preaching appointments.
