Who goes there?

An Edinburgh bus company is to ask Muslim women wearing the veil to show their faces or else produce a passport or driving licence to prove their identity before travelling on their vehicles. Lothian Buses claims the request is designed to deter fare cheats and stop travellers using other people’s passes.
The company claims the move simply brings them into line with security practice at airports. However, some religious groups and unions believe the new rules are intrusive and single certain people out within the community.
