Thousands of UK primary schools were urged to take part in Pride Week at the end of June, but many of these schools went one step further, with pupils as young as seven encouraged to think about their gender identity.
Faith schools were not exempt from the diversity curriculum designed by groups such as Just Like Us, with primary school pupils encouraged to wear a badge which displays whether they use male, female, or non-binary pronouns.
Just Like Us marketed itself heavily as available to come and speak to schools and offer support for setting up Pride clubs.
