This is a 17th century book which has been well edited to make it accessible to 21st century readers. The Puritan author, David Clarkson, was a man of conviction who suffered ejection for his faithfulness and later became an associate minister with John Owen. He sets out to commend biblical public worship.
The content of the book is based upon three sermons which provide the main parts: (1) The Primacy of Public Worship, (2) Profiting from Public Worship, and (3) Hearing the Word. We would all admit that these are subjects that every Christian should be deeply interested in.
