A pro-abortion campaign group called ‘Together for Safety’ has urged the Irish Government to push through its Safe Access Zones Bill to prevent peaceful protests.
The group used the example of a recent peaceful protest in Cork as a reason to impose censorship zones outside abortion clinics across the Republic of Ireland.
The bill, currently before the Dáil, would outlaw actions deemed to influence a person’s decision about abortion within 100 metres of buildings where they can be performed.
