School Bibles

Two schools have stopped the Gideons handing out Bibles in the 400th anniversary year of the King James Version. Abbot Beyne School and Paget High  Schools, near Burton-on-Trent in Staffordshire, are reported to have told the Gideons that the Bibles may offend people from other faiths. Canon Dr Ann Holt, OBE, director of programme for the Bible Society, said, ‘Such actions tend to come from agnostics with an agenda of their own’.
