The Scottish government has dropped its much-criticised plans to outlaw conversion practices. However, it still wants a ban in Scotland, but it prefers to allow the UK government to introduce one at Westminster.

LGBT groups have been pressing for a ban because they want to criminalise churches for preaching, praying, or pastoring in a way that does not affirm their radical ideology.

They also want the law to stop parents and medical professionals from objecting to, or stopping, a child’s gender transition.
