The trial and conviction of the Welsh newsreader, Huw Edwards, for possessing indecent images of children has shocked the UK and dominated the news in recent months.

It was Huw who led the BBC coverage of the Queen’s funeral, and Huw who led the coverage of the coronation of Charles III and Camilla in 2023.
In August this man pleaded guilty to the viewing and possessing of images of child sexual abuse. In September he was given a six-month suspended jail sentence.
