The case against Isabel Vaughan-Spruce may be dropped by the police or thrown out by the courts. It ought to be. To arrest a woman for praying silently in her head is an outrage.
Yes, we know it was in the vicinity of an abortion clinic. Yes, we know there was a protection order (‘buffer zone’) in place. But the clinic was closed on the day she was arrested. There were no people going in or out. There was no one to be ‘intimated’ by this woman’s silent prayers.
