US: Supreme Court rejects challenge to abortion drug mifepristone

A group of pro-life medics in America have failed to persuade the US Supreme Court to restrict the use of the abortion drug mifepristone.

The pro-life group, known as the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine, wanted to challenge the approval of the drug by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

But the Supreme Court justices decided that the group did not have standing to bring the legal action because they had not demonstrated that they themselves had been harmed by the drug.
