Previously we have noted that biblical visions were supernatural, objective, solid phenomena in which God brought heavenly realities into the sensory experience of his prophets; they heard and saw in the same way they heard and saw everyday realities around them. They were multisensory experiences.

We contrasted such biblical visions with visual hallucinations which are purely visual experiences generated by damage to the visual neural circuitry in the brain. And we reflected on the visions experienced by many healthy people today and down the ages, Christians and others, who have visionary experiences which are due to internal production of such intense imagery.

Some people think in this kind of way. Others think in word-based ways. Let us reflect more on how to understand people who think differently like this, especially how to understand the intensely visual thinking of visionaries.
