In the recent death of Walter Chantry last September, I lost an old, wise friend. We met at Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia, in 1961. Walter was a year ahead of me.
He had that lovely, rare combination of seriousness and popularity among fellow students. His opinions and counsels were sought, and he was great fun to be with.
Converted aged 12 in 1950, Walter studied at Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. There he joined the Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship.
